No I didn’t pick this up at a convention nor trade shows.
I picked this up at a local drug store in Lacombe, AB (AB-Alberta Canada) back in 1987.
Maaan I remember all of us riders were waiting on REAL snowboard magazine to come out.
I’ve only paid $3 for it. Yeah $3 Canadian dollar which means $1.50 USD back then.
Now $5 USD. hahaha
Back then, as you can see, Bert Lamar and Terry Kidwell were the most stylish (skate style) riders out there & me and my boys were just getting used to metal edges…
In 2012, you have crazy choices of snowboard boots, many companies are fighting for your businesses…
But there was no snowboard boots company existed, I think Airwalk released first snowboard boots 1998-ish. If you check this BARFOOT ads you can see soft boots are just snow boots with ski lining in it. This set up can be put together in oooh $30 to $40.
Without this song “Cooky Puss” there’s no Beastie Boys we know of today. And Adam was the one to make this happen. Thank-you MCA for all da great memories!!! Your music will LIVE ON forever!!!
My wife have been telling me about this spot opened up in downtown LA little bit ago, UMAMI catessen.
I’m sure most of you already tried out UMAMI Burger in Costa Mesa, Yes this spot is also ran by same UMAMI group. But UMAMI catessen is 3 kitchens put into one location, UMAMI, THE CURE and PIGG. It’s located directly across street from Nicolas Cage’s LA loft.
Yeah no bull shit, when you come out of UMAMI catessen just keep your head forward & look up, you’ll notice Gotham City kinda building in front of you, that the one!
I’ve got truffle beets salad, truffle burger, corned beef on rye, thin fries & a drink.
Any UMAMI joint’s menu is well written, when I read every words in their menu every items sounds fucking great. But for some reason I ended up ordering TRUFFLE something every time & every time I never see any TRUFFLES… maybe little settle flavor that’s yet. If menu didn’t indicate that you’ll never know. Thin fires are always great, but don’t know why most of people choose sweet potato fries over thin fires. Don’t get me wrong, I love sweet potato fries myself but does not go with UMAMI burger to me.
Oh by the way, THE CURE serves cured meats, nicely displayed in cool case. The PIGG is a deli, that’s where I got my corned beef from.
The best part of this meal was…. DRINK.
Not because they’ve got the best bartender in town. But I liked the fact that they have many original cocktails to choose from. I’ve picked “Citrus Tree”, Rum base with lychee liqueur, red and green grapes, fresh lime juice and sugar. Dude, this sounds like a chick drink!?!?!!
That’s right fo, now that I’m a married man, I no longer has to worry about some chick looking at me funny with girly drink.
If you don’t like it, you can kiss it! hahahahahaha
That’s why drink was the best part of this meal.
With that said I’ll say UMAMI has one of the best burgers in town, but corned beef?
There’s reason why they don’t call themselves UMAMI corned beef…
But over-all, I’m stocked to see this kind of cool spots opening up in downtown LA area.

I used to knock-off his logos & make our own skate team goods back in my high school days. Because he had almost same last name as me, Kasai and Mukai. So in my hood House of Kasai was House of Mukai.hahaha
But not just a name, he’s big air style was something that you have to born with. My boys & I wanted to be stylish just like Lester.
I couldn’t tell him all that but least I was able to tell him that I’ve used to have all his decks from 80′s! And I still have his signature that he gave me from early 2000.
He simply replied “Oh dang, Thanx for your $1.”
Meaning back in the day, Pro got paid $1 per their Pro deck sales.

This is PEJU‘s 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, this maybe one of my favorite wine of all time. I’m a wine club member here at PEJU for who knows how long…see the tower looking building on PEJU label? That’s actual building that they have at the winery. I started my membership here before this tower was build.
This winery is located in heart of Napa Valley, I think they’re pretty much in St.Helena. All the famous wineries are located in this area, Woodbridge by Robert Mondavi, same shit but Opus One, The Beaulieu Vineyard, The Hess, Joseph Phelps, Sterling, Clos Pegase, The Rubicon… and so on. But my GO TO spots are PEJU, Sliver Oak, Stags’ Leap & if I’m on my date I will throw in Frog’s Leap. I love me some great REDS in this area!
What I love about Cabernet Sauvignon in general is it’s nature. The Cabernet grapes are very hard to grow yet once you perfected it can be very rewording. It takes characteristic from surroundings. This calls for craftmanship to create such a wine.
But cut the bullshit, this wine is the bomb!!! Yeah Adam Bomb, bomb.
And to enjoy this great wine, what more suitable than Ralph Lauren glass?!? Thanx to my OCGS crew!!! (this was my last year’s X-mass present from them)
When weekend comes close, I get many calls from dudes trying to find them a bottle of wine for their dates. I always give my suggestions, but you know what guys, the BEST pantie dropper is Jägermeister, not a bottle of wine. hahaha
And to add to it, it does NOT mean above listed is the BEST wines, it just my preference. So if you want to find yourself a good wine you have to find it yourself. This is some thing that you can just go by some websites’ review nor what’s on people’s blogs.
To me、 California Wines are the California GOLD!!!
