WELCOME to…

This store just opened up in my hood. This spot was where Greek Deli was.. I miss there Feta cheese!!!

SCRATCH, bake goods. I’ve tried all the cookies, taste just like my friend’s cookies, nothing special just homemade. SCONES was whatever also I like my SCONES crusty & flaky. I can tell this was homemade SCONES, but… Also fresh baked Breads ($7 a loaf) was looking pretty good, but they don’t have cutter to cut the bread for you…This place got LONG LONG ways to go, but please support local small business!!! This place can be great place. I think they need some time to figure out what people wants. Also Please educate your staff, a girl helped me had no idea what you have & I think she under charged us…Thank-you for that by the way!
Until then I’ll be shopping at OLIVES (gourmet grocer).

Found this “Hang-it-All” coat rack in Fullerton this weekend also. I wanted this rack for long time but this piece has another funny stories behind it. This rack was originally designed by Ray & Charles Eames back in 1953 & only manufactured between 1953 to 1961, less than 10 years. But if you go online, there bunch a vendors selling BRAND NEW unit for less than $100. All made in China or Taiwan. FTW!?!?
And some are sold as George Nelson’s rack. Very confusing isn’t it?

The fact of matter is (sorry you! owners of original ball rack) there’s soo much reproduction in market, no one knows which is real & which is reproduction or copied products anymore. You might think you have an original, chances are you too might have reproduction one. SAD SAD truth.
Only cool thing about this is even people think they’re buying reproduction, the name like Ray & Charles Eames or George Nelson in this case people don’t mind paying $100 for this rack that was designed for kids.

Also found this Dudes (salt & Pepper shakers) from Before World War II era. I’m adding this to my collection but does anyone know the names???

I LUV MY MOM.

I know it’s not Mother’s day yet, but I figure it’s better now than later. Since I’ve been holding this matter off for LONG TIME.

When I was just short of 12 years old sent off to a boarding school. After finishing 9th grade I was shipped off to San Francisco from little town in Japan. I was super hyped on skating all day anytime freedom, but that was cut short by my folks shipping me up to Alberta, Canada. Moved back down to LA in 1990 & started our shop with Toshi 4 years later. Since I’ve left my Parents home, maybe I visited my Parents home less than 10 times.(it’s been 30 years..) And great son that I am I’ve never called nor contacted my Parents besides visiting them few times. Better yet, in my 20′s (whole 10 years) they’ve never seen me nor spoke to me. My Parents had no idea where I was.
So first time I really talked & faced my Parents was in my mid 30′s.
Sum this all up, I was Profligate son with no gratitude. Even I was piece of shit son my mom LOVED me no matter what. Every time she finds out where I was, she’ll always wrote me a letter.
Just like one I’ve got yesterday.

Pic above is post stamps on my letter from my mom. This is no regular stamps, she has to go to post office & get this (which is few hours drive for her). The letter itself is nothing special, she let’s me know how everyone was doing kind of letter. But every letter from her had these kind of crazy stamps on it. And 20 somewhat years I didn’t know why. Why she’s going all this trouble just to stick crazy stamps to send a letter. WHY WHY WHY?

I found out reason for it in my mid 30′s.
My mom told me that when I was kid I used to collect stamps… so 20 somewhat years she kept sending me letter with collectable stamps on it, knowing I’ll never write her back.
Now you know I’m a REAL piece of shit. And I agree, I am or I should say I was.

I’m just thankful that I didn’t find this out after my mom has past…thank God she is still around happy & healthy!!!
Now I keep all her letter with these stamps on it & hopefully I’ll organize it in the folder one day.

What I wanted to say today is no matter how bad you are, your mom will always love you. So please please love your mom back!
Don’t be like me.
Life is too short.

I love you MOM!!!!
You are the greatest,

(888)382-1222

The (888) 382-1222 Email Scam – A chain email is being circulated once again (this email has circulated in the past), prompting people to call the government’s Do Not Call list (which is legitimate, but if you’ve already done it unnecessary), and then asking the email recipient to forward the email:

Email Body: The email received reads as follows:

REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month.
REMINDER….. all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls….. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS
To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone: 888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.
HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON .. It takes about 20 seconds.

Email Scam: The only accurate piece of information in this email is the phone number, which is the government’s Do Not Call number. The rest of the information is false. Cell phone numbers are not going public this month. The Do Not Call List permanently blocks your number, not just for 5 years – so once you register a phone number, there’s no need to re-register it. And finally, there’s no need to pass on the email – by this time, most people are already aware of the Do Not Call list, and sending unsolicited emails around will only serve to aggravate people.

Now ya know,

MAYBE I’M NOT THAT GUY…

Had a lunch over at “FIVE GUYS” today. I’m not sure what it is but I’ve been having mad craving for good hamburger lately. And if I’m gonna talk about burgers I should be informed what’s out there in LaLa-Land before I open my big mouth.

This “Burger & Fries” place is pretty new to most of Angelino, since Five Guys got popular in Washington DC area in late 80′s to 90′s. They’re kinda like “In N’ Out Burger” of East Coast.

This is Little Cheeseburger, Fries & Regular drink: almost $10.
Compare to “In n’ Out” I will take “In n’ Out” all day over FIVE GUYS. And I don’t even like “In n’ Out”. It’s OK, but both just a fast food burger.
Nothing special.

So I’ve asked our staff for there favorite Burger spot.

Masashi’s pick: 1) Fuji’s 2) IN-N-OUT 3) UMAMI Burger

Kay’s pick: 1) IN-N-OUT 2)Fat Burger 3) FUDDRUCKERS

Yuki’s pick: 1) MVP 2) IN-N-OUT 3) Fat Burger

Takumi’s pick: 1) IN-N-OUT 2) DICK’S 3) Fat Burger

Skylar’s pick: 1) TK Burger 2) IN-N-OUT 3) J & J House of Subs

And my TOP 5: 1) Lazy Ox Canteen 2)Apple Pan 3) Umami Burger 4) MVP 5) Jollibee.

I just had to put Jollibee, because they’ve got super cute mascot.
I think The Hundreds should do collaboration with Jollibee!!!
Personally I like Skylar’s pick also, not bad, not bad at all.

So where’s your favorite burger spot?

うんちく

P.S. Sorry, Toshi is out today, Mr.Fuji is on vacation I couldn’t get everyone’s pick…But I’m sure they all like my list. haha

Happy Face.

I hope you all learned a valuable lesson from my last post! haha It wasn’t really to teach you “How to wear snapbacks” but most important lesson here was “If ya’ll got more than 1 snapbacks, yo ass is RICH!!!”.
So you rich kids of Orange county, I expect you to pick up 2 or more snapbacks at a time!

Speaking of been RICH, check this puppy out!

That’s right, signed Ron English poster for me!!! And I feel like a million bucks!

I was at The Hundreds’ main office today for marketing meeting, not sure why I get invited for these meeting every time. But anyways, Ash & Bmo remembered I is the biggest fan of R.E. they’ve took time to have him signed for me. Fucking Awesome!!!

I’m no rich man, but this is some luxury that’s for sure.
Thank-you Ash & Bmo, love you long time!

Speaking of luxury, here’s one more luxury in my life:

My George Nelson/Howard Miller clock (Noguchi Ball clock)

Hard to believe when this clock came out in 1964 this clock was only $30. Where da hell is TIME MACHINE?!? But joke a side, what I like about this clock is STORY BEHIND it. This clock was born out of few great designers getting fucked up drinking. I’m sure if you’re mid-century modern buff like me you’ll recognize these drunken designers, George Nelson, Isamu Noguchi, Buckminster Fuller and Irving Harper. Many years later Irving Harper claimed that he was the actual designer of this clock, but no one really know which of these geniuses designed this clock, it’s mystery still to this day.

I’d like to think this is “Noguchi ball clock” or simply “George Nelson clock” without George Nelson there’s no such a thing as American Modern. Respect!

So when I tell you “I’m rollin’ in my 64(six fo).” I’m NOT talking about ’64 Impala, I’m talking about this clock. haha

Regardless, all these little things makes me HAPPY.

HAPPY FACE,

うんちく

New Snapbacks…

I know many of you including myself are hyped on Snapbacks, I always love rocking good headwear anyway.

My dear friend Mr.Nishimoto just posted this flick of “How to wear snapbacks”, he does not know I’m using this flick today, so just wanted to give you a shout, dude.
By the way, this dude in flick is NOT my friend Mr.Nishimoto. I don’t trust none Black dude that uses word “Nigga” nor be friend with him. Since I am a “Ninja”.

gahahahahaha~
Now you know how to rock your Snapbacks?!?!?
